Super Bowl Sunday is a day of celebration. Family and friends get together to watch the famous match, and the living room becomes invaded by snacks, sodas and alcoholic drinks. It’s time for you to show-off your skills by making delicious and healthy snacks!

In order to enjoy the celebration, be sure to plan what you’ll prepare. Choose the recipes and the ingredients you’ll need at least one day ahead. Try including fresh vegetables, such as celery, carrots, radish, or broccoli. Have them ready one day before by cutting them into strips and saving them in the refrigerator.

Look for disposable plates and napkins with the emblem of each team. This way, you’ll please the guests who sympathize with either of the two teams.

Surprise your guests with a healthy, traditional menu:

  • Snacks: Celery Stalks with Ricotta Cheese and a Baked Artichoke Dip
  • Entrees: Philly Cheese Steak
  • Drinks: Cider with Spices
  • Dessert: Baked Apples

In order to be able to enjoy the party while sticking to your diet, follow these recommendations:

  • On the day of the event, make sure to eat four meals, as shown on your diet plan. This will prevent you from feeling excessively hungry and eating more calories than you should.
  • Avoid eating while cooking. This will only lead to extra calories you might not be aware of.
  • Watch your serving sizes, based on your diet plan. Avoid eating directly from the container, especially when it comes to snacks.
  • Beware of excessive sodas or  alcoholic drinks. Alcohol can alter your appetite and make you eat more. Replace alcoholic beverages with healthy, low-calorie drinks, such as fruit or vegetable juices.

You’ll be a great host if you not only make sure there’ll be fun, but also a healthy, well-planned menu. This way, you’ll be taking care of both your health and your guests’.

And now, enjoy the party! May the best team win!
